Mzskeen Music Spotlight: Broadway Miller (Interview)

Attention all hip-hop fans!! Allow me to introduce to you one of the hottest artists on the verge of taking over the game, Broadway Miller! Hailing from N.C, Broadway Miller has a southern swag and northen flow that will surely take him to the top! I recently had the opportunity to get into the mind of Mr. Broadway Miller to take some insight on who he really is..





Q. Who is Broadway Miller?:
A. Broadway Miller is a country, talented, intelligent, realistic boy frm
Columbus County, NC...The name comes from the two streets I live on
growing up in 910...Most would say I'm a "rapper"..I laugh when they say
that...I am a hip hop artist whose talent goes beyond putting words
together

Q. What makes you/your sound different from other rappers today?:

A. I usually rap @ a northern pace over southern beats or vice
versa...this is probably bc of my influences..I listen to ALL hip
hop...so being from the south automatically I'm drawn to southern hip
hop, T.I. UGK, 3 6 Mafia...and when I first started listening to hip
hop, I listened to a bunch of northern artists, Wu-Tang, Nas, AZ..


Q. Being that you're from the south (N.C), how do you feel when critics
blame most southern artists for the slow death of hip-hop?

A. I laugh, honestly!...The south has respected everyone (coast or type
of hip hop) time to shine..they need to respect the south now...we just
make good music...granted, there are a couple of bad apples out of the
bunch but over all we are the most dominant and influential right
now...Artists who have paved the way like Getto Boys, 8Ball and MJG,
Uncle Luke, etc finally get to see 'the south' shine...I tell ppl to hop
on the bandwagon bc southern hip hop aint goin nowhere, get used to it!

Q. What makes your sound different than other southern rappers?

A. My content!...I'm the Hip Hop artist with the angel on one shoulder
and the devil on the other lol...in my rhymes I express both, good and
bad, relating to my situations in life as well as my thoughts...I've
accomplished a lot that can be considered positive, on the other hand
I've been apart of things that would be looked down upon...many artists,
period, choose a side...I choose to give you both...

Q. Where you do see yourself in 5 years?

A. Being an established and respected artist by ALL... owning a lounge and
restaurant...giving others opportunities that I didn't have...

Q. Beemer, Benz or Bentley?

A. Maybach lol

Q. Trina, Kim or Nicki?

A. Kim, just bc she laid some of the ground work so that artists like
Trina and Nicki can shine...

Q. Blunt or bottle?

A. Bottle..............of water lol

A. Catch up or Get Caught Vol 2...The Arrival Vol 2...'Break It Down'
video...and a bunch of other things that I'm forgetting right now lol
